For the good
of all people, the truth is what is needed we may not like what we hear or
agree with every truth, but in fact truth is what is a need, how can you
build if you don't have a good foundation to work off of. For myself I
look at it this way I have grand children and I want what is the best for
them if one of my grand children came up to me and said grand mother I
wish to know all of our ways to who would I send him?
To
what elder to what crafts person to what teacher of our language or to the
way of our tribe and nation our honor system, who would teach him of his
rights as well as his reasonability. If he was to see what is going on now
would I want him to be able to see the truth and accept it? How would it
affect him to learn he was learning from people who want to get their way
and what would this teach him? What would it be teaching our children if
we took a side because we liked someone but they did not do things right?
If you will look at each nation you will see they all have non profit at
work for them, it does not make them less of who they are it is what is in
our hearts and mind sets, and what we do, it is by excepting truths that
one moves people forward, in that people find self honor, that is what I
wish for all my grand children to understand. With the actions of a few
shall all have to suffer? , How can we build to become a respected part of
any nation with take over and backward thinking that is best left in the
time of the 1800's to allow actions of a few to cause this type of
damage not just for us but for all who all are trying to find the way home
is not what I wish for any child to see or learn, the events that have taken place have spread shame to each of us because
of a few, could this be why some think of it as a conspiracy? Does this
not remind one of past dealing of the trade off with nations, the hard
works that have been done to allow us to get this far are now forgotten
and the honor felt in doing so tarnished for what? For what reason ask
your self’s and in doing so ask is this what I wish for my self or our
people?
If it takes going in to the {white court} to find the truth because a few
are trying to hide it then ask your self why, if you watch any of the
meetings on tape you could see that it had no other solution, and it does
not make ones heart less red, in fact it shows that to protect our hard
work and to see that we continue. This is why I will stand behind and vote
for John Watson and others on the list I have personably talked to john
and I am made to feel that supporting john will be good for our people.
Countless hrs of time and personal resource have been used to try to
project the WC and I feel that with the right council and chief we can
once again move forward on to the right path. The actions of a few have
come close in destroy the people, how many of you would put your self out
to walk through this and try to bring the people back home? How many of
you will sit on the fence and wait for the elections to tell you where you
will stand? I my self will gladly give of what ever means to embrace our
people and bring them home under the right leader ship.
I live in Oklahoma and I have been sent a declaration to seek office and
I will fill them out and send them in my support of Principal Chief Jerry
W summers and John Watson. My concern here is that I live in Oklahoma and
wanting to do my best for the people. People need representation, I intend
on doing just that. I want to see the Western Cherokee as an organized
group, not a bunch of people running around like renegades.
If we do not expose the truth how can we make an informed decision and
should people be allowed to only show what they want you to see?
I have been around for some seven or more years.
We as a people must see clearly both side of
an issue and if called on be able to decide fairly on the issue at hand.
We as a nation and tribe must show to our
self, our children and others we can handle our matters with honor.
How
long do we the people sit on the fence and allow this to happen to our
people? How much evidence do we need to make a decision of what is best
for the Western Cherokee?
I will support those who have tried to do things with honor, respect and
not break laws to win.
